What is Kernza Grain?

Kernza is a perennial grain developed by The Land Institute and offers a compelling solution to the environmental challenges facing modern agriculture. Its deep root system retains water and reduces the need

for fertilizers, increasing the opportunity for sustainable food production. Breweries and distilleries offer a market to farmers who adopt Kernza. This strengthens their regenerative practices and adds a potential revenue stream.

What is Upcycled Spent Grain?

The spent grain (sugar removed) generated during the brewing & distillation process is used again as a nutrient dense grain for products such as baked goods, cereals, coatings and beverages. NETZRO safely captures these grains, adding value in addition to eliminating waste. Breweries and distilleries can enhance their sustainability practices while contributing to circular economy. Collaborative efforts between breweries, distilleries, farmers, and food & beverage manufacturers are crucial to realizing the full potential of Kernza.
